Diwali Is celebrated by Indian communities mainly Hindu and it is a celebration of light with religious ties about a story in Hinduism that follows a Great Hero when I got there at the event space where they were holding it I got there early enough that I was able to see some of the dancers doing their warm-ups and see them make sure everything was ready to go I also saw a short Buffet line with Indian food from a local restaurant. closer to 7:00 I watched as a lot of people filed in and then they got started with a little introduction and history behind Diwali then they got started with dance performances a lot of these performances were by groups on campus such as the mint group there was a tap dancing performance it was a lot of modern Indian songs and at the end of the night there was a performance by the south Asian Student Association which was a great way to cap off the night and then afterward we all gathered in parents Plaza for a lighting of the candles I forget what it was called but everyone kind of lit their candles and it was very nice
