- in illusion to purgatory with the plains of regeneration
- Going over the falls is death
- The nine tributaries to the river of death could be an analogy to the Ten Commandments

- How much the land of sin really is all just flowing down towards the falls
- Hell is at the bottom and Heavens at the top
The nine tributaries to the river of death could be an analogy to the Ten Commandments
(The commandments are out of order)
- No god but the one God has stuff like love of self and love of items
- Take the name of the lord in vain; river of profanity with vilebooks materials that would encourage use of such language
- Keep holy the sabbath; river of sabbath-breaking with ignorance and indulgence and love of pleasure
- Holy thy father and mother; disobedience of parents bad early training and filthiness
- Don’t kill anyone; river of murder neglect and prenatal murder
- Don’t commit adultery; river of adultery with brothels and private dancing
- Do not steal; river of stealing cards and saloon gambling
- Bear false witness; river of lying cheating and debt
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife; river of adultery same stuff as #6
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods; river of covetousness love of money selfishness
The use of The Commandments as the basis for the rivers was perfectly aligned with the revivalist movements that this is based on as this was a basis for a sermon we would have found much of the same throughout most of the sermons. We also find a lot of the ideals that we would have found in that time period with stuff like the Sunday paper being considered you know the devil’s hand additionally with the circus and theater being considered sinful activities possible explanation for this is that during that time period these activities were a lot more we’re a lot more different then what we are today and what we envision them to be it could be due to the outfits or the content of said activities but a lot of this stuff is much of the same that we would find today save for those mentioned up above it’s not changed much from contemporary Christianity and the way it depicted is very interesting in the river leading down towards the falls and once you go over the falls you’re in hell symbolizing going over the falls is dying and then on the opposite we have the Gate of repentance which gets you past the impenetrable hedge of sin showing that only through repentance can you get out of sin and then we have another gate that goes out of the Redemption planes where after that you get to the Holiness Heights where those are living holy lives and then after that you have you have heaven with these Redemption planes being in the middle this like Middle Ground with the land of sin being the reverse of the Holiness Heights
