As I walked into the fair you see a long the main Concourse is it stretches through the street and continues out past the fair into the rest of Allentown you see all these bright signs flashing with colorful pictures and large words designed to draw you in invite you you’ve arrived to the great Allentown Fair. The main draw of any Fair is often the food. As you walk in you find yourself greeted by this large display reading funnel cakes, freshly squeezed lemonade and deep fried Oreos, a staple of any self-respecting Fair. I got myself a funnel cake and I enjoyed it as I bit into its soft flaky texture the airiness of it as it has just come out of the deep fryer and the taste of the powdered sugar generously layered on top this is one of the many things that people often remember about a fair core memories. As you turn left you see stretched out before you the line of carnival games with people along the stretch Hawking people down to play their basketball games, their water guns darts and many other things. I found myself drawn to the balloon popping with darts game I’m myself on a prize and took part in the carnival games an extremely popular part of the fairs along with food and games there’s shows there was one showcasing the Wolves of the world which was very fascinating there was also a music shows which I unfortunately missed there was no the blue oyster cult, Pentatonix, and Cheap Trick. Additionally there was a rabbit show with all sorts of rabbits large small ones that had this one bites marked on them because they were bad rabbits there’s a petting zoo there was camels there was a display of antique farm equipment which looked very interesting and it was very interesting seeing you know what people used you know a century ago. The atmosphere of the fair is something that you won’t find very many other places I went to my own County Fair a year or two ago and it was much of the same environment a lot of people getting together to celebrate their town but they had done and it was fascinating to see allentowns fair you know I’m new to Allentown and I was very interested in seeing it and I was extremely impressed there was tons of stuff to do very fun things I didn’t even get to go inside there’s a whole indoor section that I never visited and as I walked around I walked on a couple of my friends we saw all the rides we saw a bull riding contraption and we could not help ourselves got on rode the bull had a good time and that is I think another element of it is that going with your friends your family enjoying it together that is huge it’s a huge part of it. I think overall the fair is great it is a big Community event with a whole Community can come together for one thing you know put aside their differences and have just a good time together it’s amazing event that I will certainly be returning to next year
